Miqat Stop at Dhul Hulaifa on the Way to Makkah

If you are travelling to Makkah for Umrah, you must enter ihram before passing the Miqat. For pilgrims leaving Madinah, that is Dhul Hulaifa, also called Abyar Ali, about 10 km from Masjid an Nabawi. Our driver stops at the masjid there so you can make your intention, pray two rakat and continue in ihram.

Wear Ihram at the HotelMany pilgrims change at the hotel and only make the intention at the Miqat. It saves time at the masjid.

Our drivers make this trip every week. They know the Miqat at Dhul Hulaifa, the rest areas on the Hijrah highway and how to reach hotels around the Haram.

Taxi From Madinah to Makkah or the Train?

The Haramain train is quick for a solo traveller with one bag. For families it often costs more, because every passenger needs a ticket and you still need a taxi to and from both stations. The train also cannot stop at the Miqat, so you have to enter ihram before reaching the station. A private taxi from Madinah to Makkah is one fare for the whole car, with the Miqat stop on the way.

Travelling the other way later? Book a Makkah to Madinah taxi or a Makkah to Jeddah Airport taxi for your flight home.
